I understand him not wanting to waste his time with Bellamy since at this point Bellamy is the ignorant one... But why stay and let them kick his ass?

I'm struggling with that one as well... the only thing I can come up with is thinking that by being passive right now makes Luffy the winner later on somehow. Once Bellamy figures out how strong Luffy really is, he's gonna think back to this moment, how Luffy let him do that to him even though Luffy could have totally destroyed him (after all, he did just finish kicking Crocodile's ass, so Bellamy can't even compare strength wise). I think in that moment it will reveal just how strong Luffy is, not just in his body but in his heart/spirit. Sorry, not sure if that makes any sense, but I was really thinking about this when I saw your comment. Glad i'm not the only confused one lol. Still, I feel proud of Luffy. That was really grown up, to turn the other cheek in the face of ignorance you just can't fight.

Honestly Zoro and Luffy could have evaded Bellamy's crew leaving the bar with Nami without cutting or punching people... That being said I'm more proud of Nami for denying their offer to join Bellamy's crew.
